Clean Out Before You Manifest
Your mind is the most important muscle in your body. Just like your physical muscles, if you don’t train it properly, it weakens, becomes sluggish, and struggles to perform at its peak. The problem is, most people are completely out of shape—mentally. They are weighed down by cluttered thoughts, limiting beliefs, and unchecked ego-driven thinking. They want to manifest their dreams, but they skip a crucial step: cleaning out their mental space first.
Think of your mind like a cluttered room. If you keep trying to bring in new furniture—new goals, aspirations, and desires—without first clearing out the junk, you’ll end up overwhelmed, frustrated, and stuck. This is why most people fail to manifest what is truly best for them. They haven’t done the necessary work to take control of their thoughts, to recognize the influence of their ego, and to cultivate the mental discipline required to focus on what they truly want.
The Mental Exercise: Regaining Control of Your Thoughts
If you’ve ever felt exhausted from your own thoughts, you’re not alone. With approximately 80,000 thoughts per day, our minds can feel like a swarm of mosquitoes—constantly buzzing, distracting, and biting at our peace. To take back control, you must train your mind, just like you would train a muscle. The following exercise will help you build the strength to clear your thoughts and focus on the right ones.
Step 1: Identify a Positive Memory
Think of a past experience that brought you immense joy—one of the best moments of your life. Write it down. It could be a vacation, a personal achievement, or a simple, beautiful moment with loved ones.
Step 2: Focus for 20 Seconds
Find a quiet place, sit or lie down, and focus on this memory for 20 full seconds. Really immerse yourself in the experience—feel the joy, the excitement, and the gratitude you had in that moment. If your mind wanders, don’t get discouraged. The average human mind gets distracted every six seconds! The key is persistence.
Step 3: Expand to 20 Minutes
Once you can hold your positive thought for 20 seconds, challenge yourself to extend it to 20 minutes. Relive the experience in detail, or bring in additional positive memories. The longer you can sustain uninterrupted, positive thought, the stronger your mental discipline becomes.
Why This Works
This exercise is more than just a mental workout—it exposes how often your ego hijacks your thinking. It shows you the resistance that has been blocking your ability to manifest your best life. Most people try to manifest from a chaotic, cluttered mind, and as a result, they attract more chaos. But by training yourself to hold focused, positive thought, you take control back and create a powerful foundation for true manifestation.
This Mindset Monday, challenge yourself to clean out before you manifest. Your dreams aren’t out of reach—you just need the mental discipline to create the space for them to flourish.
